Polychromatic ("white") beam and a stationary single crystal. Many wavelengths diffract at once, so a full spot pattern appears without rotating the crystal. Spots lying on the same curve (ellipse or hyperbola) belong to the same zone.
Lattice parameters
Range (h, k, l): min, max
Only lattice-centring extinctions are applied (no glide planes or screw axes).
Polychromatic beam
0.0
Every wavelength between λmin and λmax is present, so every Ewald sphere between the large one (1/λmin, blue) and the small one (1/λmax, red) exists at once. A point g diffracts if the wavelength it needs, λ = −2gz/|g|², lies in the band. Spot colour shows that wavelength.
Crystal orientation (stationary)
0.0°0.0°0.0°
The crystal does not move during a Laue exposure. At φ = χ = ω = 0, c* is parallel to the beam; use the sliders to set a fixed tilt.

Detector
Set the detector angle: 0° gives a transmission Laue photograph, 180° a back-reflection photograph (the beam passes through a hole in the detector); any angle in between is possible. In 3D the crystal sits at the centre of the 1/λmin sphere: the faint lines are the diffracted beams from the crystal to the detector, while the coloured vectors k_out start at the centre of their own Ewald sphere. Click a spot in the inset to select it; drag the inset's lower-left corner to resize it.
Integration
The crystal is stationary, so integrating records the same pattern; change the orientation (φ, χ, ω) while integrating to superimpose the patterns of several orientations. Recorded spots stay on the detector when you move it; a new wavelength or a new lattice clears them.
